Kyra Minturn

 Kyraminturn Sedgwick was born on August 19th, 1965. She is an American producer and actress. Her most well-known role is her character as the Deputy Chief Brenda Leigh Johnson in the TNT crime drama The Closer. Sedgwick received a Golden Globe Award in 2007 for her portrayal of Johnson and also an Emmy Award 2010 for her portrayal. The series ended after the seventh season. Sedgwick's recurring role of Madeline Wuntch in the sitcom Brooklyn Nine-Nine is also notable. Sedgwick was nominated to the Golden Globe award in 1995 for her performance in Something to Talk About. Sedgwick's film roles include Oliver Stone's Born in July (1989) and Cameron Crowe's Individuals (1992) as well as Heart and Souls-1993), Phenomenon (1996), What's Cooking (2000) and Secondhand Lions (2003). The Game Plan (2007) and The Possession (2011) are in addition to her numerous. Sedgwick was born in New York City, the daughter of Patricia (nee Rosenwald), who was a speech instructor and educational/family therapist and Henry Dwight Sedgwick V, a venture capitalist. Her mother was Jewish and her father was Episcopalian as well as of English heritage. Sedgwick has declared herself Jewish and has said she participates in Passover seders.
