Barbara Ann Corcoran
Barbara Ann Corcoran was born March 10 1949. She is an American investor, speaker and consultant. The Corcoran Group, an NYC real estate brokerage was established by Corcoran. NRT bought it in 2001 for $66 million. Corcoran then left the company. Corcoran has been a part of 12 of ABC's Shark Tank seasons. In February 2020 Corcoran was involved in 53 deals, the largest being a $350,000 deal that covered 40% of Coverplay. Corcoran was born in Edgewater (New Jersey) as the second child of ten in a Catholic Irish working class family. Florence Corcoran was Florence's mom and was a homemaker. Edwin W. Corcoran Jr. her father was a multi-talented employee throughout Corcoran's early years. Her family sometimes relied on the free food delivery from a friendly local supermarket. Corcoran remembers her father, one who would drink too much, and treated her mother disrespectfully and condescendingly, particularly after he'd had some drinks. Corcoran was struggling at school and discovered later that she had dyslexia. She went to the local Catholic elementary school and started the high school system in St. Cecilia High School in Englewood. Corcoran was proficient in several classes during her freshman year. She transferred to Leonia High School and graduated with a grade of D.
